Members of the House of Lords are elected by the public at general elections.

क्यों

House of Lords के सदस्य (peers) चुने नहीं जाते। अधिकांश life peers हैं, जिन्हें प्रधानमंत्री की सलाह पर सम्राट नियुक्त करते हैं। इसके अलावा कुछ hereditary peers और Church of England के वरिष्ठ bishops भी होते हैं।
